Our Local Artists are Winners!

Several of our members have recently had their art works recognized in some local and national shows and venues. Here is a run down—come by and see their artwork in person at Cary Gallery of Art in downtown Cary. www.carygallery.org

Phyllis Golden Andrews and E. Tracy Williams each had a piece selected for The Artist’s Magazine Annual Art Competition. Phyllis’ painting, Morning View, was selected as a finalist in the landscape/interior category. Ella has an abstract that’s a finalist.

Denise Lincon was awarded 2nd place at a juried competition at Art Exposure Gallery in Hampstead, NC.

Jean Cheely has a glass sculpture, Tokyo In NYC, juried into the Tacoma Museum of Glass’ Red Hot Gala auction in Takoma, Washington.

Betty Packler has been juried into the annual North Carolina Watercolor Society show for the second year. The show will be at Page-Walker in October.

Kristen Stamper recently won first place in the Orange County Silver Arts Show. This qualifies her to compete at the state finals in October. Second place went to one of her students who will also go on to the state finals.

Diana Coidan was juried into the Associated Artists of Southport Summer Exhibition and took 2nd place.

Ana Sumner was selected to create the art for the Lazy Daze 2012 poster. She is the fourth artist from Cary Gallery of Artists to be selected for this honor in the past six years.
